Increase Student Achievement

Increase Student Achievement:

In the final analysis, the only thing that really is of paramount importance in education is whether or not the students “learn”. Any new innovation is worthless if it cannot be shown to positively affect student achievement. Hundreds of studies have shown that there is only one factor that increases student achievement. And that is the “TEACHER”. New technology, new programs or new resources will not make up for an ineffective teacher. A Smartboard will not turn a bad teacher into a great or even a good teacher.

A comprehensive induction program has been linked to the accelerated acquisition of skills by new teachers. It is not uncommon to see teachers in their first and second year, exhibiting skills generally seen in teachers with significantly more experience. This success is linked with job satisfaction and a commitment to the profession. When teachers become more effective, the direct benefactors are the children in the classroom.
